Brick

Brick construction brings together structural integrity, climate responsiveness, and timeless aesthetics. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship yet adaptable to contemporary design, it allows us to create spaces that are both efficient and expressive.
We extensively work with the rat-trap bond, a technique where bricks are laid on edge to form internal cavities within the wall. This not only reduces material consumption but also improves thermal insulation, making buildings more energy-efficient without compromising strength.

The corbelling technique further enhances brick construction by allowing courses of bricks to gradually project outward. This creates shading devices, structural transitions, and subtle architectural details that add depth and character to the façade.
At the same time, we celebrate the beauty of exposed brick—where the material is left unfinished to reveal its natural texture, warmth, and craftsmanship. The interplay of light and shadow on brick surfaces, combined with its earthy tones, creates a rich, tactile quality that ages gracefully over time.
Together, these approaches allow us to build with honesty and efficiency—crafting architecture that is sustainable, expressive, and deeply connected to its material roots.
